Fees

Patients who have a Medicare card

Dr Joel Rhee currently bulk-bills all patients who have a Medicare card for most consultations during business hours.

Death and cremation certificates

A fee is charged for completing a death certificate ($130 + GST) and a cremation certificate (additional $120 + GST), as these are NOT covered by Medicare.

After-hours care

After-hours care for Dr Rhee’s patients is provided by an after-hours GP deputising service. This can be arranged through the care manager / nursing staff.

Telehealth

Telehealth consultations are covered by Medicare.

Future changes to Dr Rhee’s fees

Depending on the level of government funding provided through Medicare, Dr Rhee may transition to a private billing arrangement in the future that better reflects his qualifications and expertise. Any changes will be communicated to patients and their family before they are implemented.

Patients who do not have a Medicare card

Patients who do not have a Medicare card are billed privately.

  3. Prolonged visit between 40-59 minutes = $240
  4. Extended visit between 60-79 minutes = $320
  5. 80 minutes or longer = per extended visit ($320) + $80 for every 20 minutes

Death and cremation certificates

A fee is charged for completing a death certificate ($130 + GST) and a cremation certificate (additional $120 + GST).

Dr Rhee is committed to proactive and preventative care of patients. He recommends that all of his patients undertake an annual health assessment which involves a comprehensive history and a thorough physical examination as well as a review of the clinical records. The fee for this is $370.
